project

Our 7th graders here at CDS have been working hard these past weeks on our Social Studies Cultures projects. In Social Studies we have been learning about what life has been like for various cultures between the 1400-1500s. We have been learning about this because these cultures will go on to blend and make the American identity. For example, we learned about different materials / inventions that were made in this time period, how people had generally lived their daily lives, the resources that they had, and many other different cultural significance. This had given us students a general understanding of how different groups and communities had settled and flourished within their environments.

Students were asked to pick a culture and a topic that they have learned about in class, and create a project and report about their chosen subject. Both classes of the 7th grade had then put on a display case for our projects out in the lobby at CDS. This has then given the opportunity for many guests and students to learn and to appreciate our projects.
