Mathematics Curriculum K-5

Mathematics instruction follows a scope and sequence specifically designed to meet every student’s needs while maximizing his or her potential.

Kindergarten through grade 5 utilizes Investigations II a curriculum researched, designed and evaluated to ensure that it engages students in mathematical reasoning and ideas.  Mathematical reasoning is essential to meeting the challenges of the Common Core Math Standards for our students in the 21st century.  A pacing schedule has been developed that will cover all Common Core Math Standards within an academic year.   The Investigations curriculum has a rigorous scope and sequence  building within the academic year time for reinforcement activities while still allowing teachers enough flexibility to delve further on any given topic.  Investigations is aligned to the Common Core Math Standards and is comprised of strands that builds from one unit and grade to the next.

Mathematics Curriculum 6-8

Middle School math curriculum is uses a “spiral design” approach which builds and reinforces upon skills taught in the previous grades as new concepts are introduced, providing ongoing reinforcement and introduction of new concepts simultaneously.  The mathematics program for Grades 6&7 follow Holt Mathematics course 1 &2 designed specifically to develop the necessary skills to be successful in high school All students are introduced to Algebra by their 8th grade year and utilize the Prentice Hall Algebra 1 text book.
