From: AOS # 47 Superintendent Search Committee

You may or may not be aware that our present Superintendent, Allan Snell, is retiring at the end of June, 2014.  The AOS # 47  school committee has begun the process of searching for a new Superintendent.  The joint committee has met twice and will form a subcommittee to start the candidate recruitment and screening process.  The subcommittee will be comprised of two school committee members from each community, the Principal and a teacher from each school, as well as a representative from the central office.  The committee will also receive guidance from the Maine School Management Association (MSMA) to help in the search.  The AOS #47 committee feels confident that the school committee representatives on the subcommittee will continue to represent their communities, selecting qualified candidates to interview and then bring before the full school committee(s).  If you wish to share any ideas, leadership criteria, or concerns you may have in selecting a new Superintendent, please feel free to contact Judy Marvin, Orrington School’s Principal at 825-3697, or Kathy Lawson, Dedham School’s Principal at 843-6498 by Friday, January 31.
